This tournament is the top-level cricket tournament in Bangladesh. Also ranked in top 5 T20 tournament among the world. It will begin between January 1 and 16, 2025. The ‘A’ class players will receive the highest allotment of Tk 60 lakh, which is a decrease from Tk 80 lakh the previous time. The cost of cricket players in each category has been lowered by Tk 10 lakh in this way.
440 foreign cricket players have had their names added to the roster for the players’ draft, with 20 of the best players standing to make as much as $70,000 (Tk 83.5 lakh) in the class ‘A’. The ‘B’ category has 38 international players, the ‘C’ category has 66, the ‘D’ category has 135, and the ‘E’ category has 181 players.
The three new teams in the seven-team BPL 2025 are Durbar Rajshahi, Chittagong Kings, and Dhaka Capitals.
Draft regulations state that the four established franchises can sign a single local player directly out of any category, but they can keep a maximum of two local players from their roster from the previous edition.
The BPL governing council has announced that the three newly granted franchises are able to sign two local players directly from the local players’ draft list, in any category.
